Part 3
14. Keep your kids indoors unless it’s to go for a walk around your area or to walk the dog. Monitor your children while outside, because they tend to run around and touch/play with things they shouldn’t.
15. Listen to podcasts at home, there are many out there on almost any topic you can think of.
16. Work from home if you can and limit exposure to the outdoors as much as possible. Again, stay away from friends and relatives and in general any large gatherings or groups. If you can work from home do it, don’t go to work unless it’s necessary to limit your risk of getting this virus and giving it to others.
17. Carry your own pen or utensil if you are out and about doing groceries or at work and you need to sign or write stuff down. Its important to have your own things as opposed to using other people’s things so you don’t risk exposure to any bacteria others carry.
18. Greet people outdoors you know or others with a simple nod or smile. Keep physical contact with everyone to a minimum if at all because you don’t know who may be infected. No handshakes or even fist pumps as this virus is highly contagious and spreads very easily.
19. Another vital tip is to clean your cell phones every chance you get with sanitizing wipes or other cleaning supplies. Try not to handle it too much when you are out without gloves or a napkin/tissue etc….Our phones carry lots of germs that can easily be spread from the hands to our face or other parts of the body we touch without realizing.
20. If you can whenever you do go outside for whatever reason try and cover your nose and mouth with a scarf, bandanna, or some kind of mask to prevent the risk of spreading this virus if you so happen to be a carrier. Going the extra mile to protect yourself would be covering up your eyes with glasses or protective goggles.
21. Be kind, think about vulnerable people/others who are most at need and check in on them with a call (audio or video). Or by sending someone who is taking measures to protect themselves and those around them to see how they are. Show compassion and that you care for people and their safety, even if you do suspect they may be sick. Encourage people any chance you have that we will come out of this okay, tougher, and smarter than before. Brighten up their day, it will make them, and you feel good inside.
22. Make sure to monitor any symptoms that you may develop, especially after returning from outside, or after returning from any trips abroad. If you develop even mild symptoms, make sure to self-isolate yourself for 14 days and even keep distance from those in your own home by staying near your room, eating at different times and just taking extra precautions not to infect your loved ones. Use your own items and wear a mask and gloves to limit exposure to toxins you may produce. If possible, Use a separate bathroom from everyone else. Wipe any surfaces you touch and wash your hands frequently.
23. During this difficult time DO NOT host parties with visitors at your home, gatherings, or get togethers, you are trying to stay away from groups of people. Do not bring them to you. At the same time do not attend any of these events either to protect yourself and others. Host online events with friends and family, use those video apps and things technology provides to keep in contact with people.
24. If you do develop any signs of a fever take your temperature daily and record temperature changes. Try not take cold or flu medications because they can hide the fact that you are sick making the virus harder to detect. Therefore, giving the impression that you are okay meanwhile you could be infecting others without knowing.
25. Keep interactions with others brief and please don’t linger around. Especially at grocery stores and any public areas such as laundry mats, lobbies, etc.….
Some of the things mentioned above are repeated at various points throughout the article, however; it should be noted this is just to stress the importance of them. We all must do our part to get this disease under control so that life can get back to normal again. Look out for your loved ones and the community you live in. Whenever you can unless it’s for essential groceries, shop online. If you need to self-isolate do it and ask friends or family to help you with errands etc…. Following these specific tips, guidelines, and my personal advice should do wonders to help keep you safe and healthy during this pandemic. It should also assist you on how to manage symptoms, if you do unfortunately become infected with Covid-19. Everything discussed above, is what each one of you reading this should be striving to do for the safety of us all. My family and I are doing what we can and if all of us does the same, we can beat this virus much sooner than expected and save many more lives from being lost.
