25 ways to FIGHT COVID-19! (PART 1)

Reading Time: 3 minutes

My ultimate guide for protection against the coronavirus.

Chances are unless you have been living under a rock, you have heard of the Covid-19 crisis we are all dealing with right now. This deadly virus which attacks our lungs (respiratory system) has sadly claimed countless lives thus far and left many more ill. In all honesty, humanity has not seen a virus this serious in a very long time. As a result, many countries have been too slow to react (the USA to name one) and have suffered the consequences that come from not being adequately prepared to deal with this spread. Places have seen widespread fear and panic set in amongst its citizens, curfews put in place, states of emergencies declared, whole countries/economies shut down and paralyzed, by the grip this illness has had on society. Families have lost loved ones, their jobs/businesses, and the whole world has felt the impact of this pandemic in some way or another. Even after all this chaos that has ensued, so many people continue to disobey orders from their local governments to stay indoors and only leave for the essentials if necessary.

Unfortunately, this has only added to the problem and cases have soared, with little decline all over the world. Not enough people are practicing safe hygiene habits and or distancing themselves from others/groups in order to limit the chances that they or those around them catch this virus. Hospitals, and medical professionals have been overwhelmed with the sheer number of cases/deaths. Beds, ventilators, hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, and other vital medical items needed for prevention as well as to care for vulnerable people are at a shortage.  Therefore, I thought it would be something of great value to our readers to share my wisdom and write a piece on this global catastrophe. We all need to put measures in place to slow this virus and be proactive in our approach, it is the only way we can beat this sickness. These steps I will get into below are the only ways we are going to prevent more casualties and stop this from getting worse. So please…for all our sakes, take them seriously.

Part 1

  1. In general, the symptoms with those who have the novel coronavirus range from very severe to very mild, some people infected don’t feel anything at all. Therefore, because of this it is so difficult to track. Moreover, the big issue here is it impacts everyone differently, so how it is for you might be completely different for the next person. Look out for symptoms of the common cold or flu with a few differences. With Covid-19 what seems to be prevalent in most cases is the body aches, chest pains, headache/high fever, sweating profusely, dry cough, and shortness of breath, which is seen in almost all extreme cases and causes panic in the victim who is ill. So, the first thing would be to distinguish if the coronavirus is what you have or not. Like I said, you can usually in some cases tell the difference if you look at what symptoms are present. You are more at risk of serious illness if you have a pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease or are an older adult etc…. These people should take extra care.

  2. How serious people get infected with this depends on how strong their immune systems are. If their body is prepared to fight this illness or not. Make sure to eat healthy foods and drinks. No pops/sodas or anything that can suppress your system, making It weaker like sugar. Get plenty of rest, vitamin C, and eat plenty of chicken soup or other dishes that are good for you to build up your system in case you do get sick. Consume lots of fruits and vegetables. Incorporate nutritional supplements such as multivitamins and others into your diet whenever you can, and make sure to have plenty of fluids and liquids. This would be the same advice for the common cold or flu. However, doing these things gives your body the tools it needs to fight off illness and various viruses that you may encounter. Once the coronavirus has passed, we must continue to practice these habits in order to stay healthy and fight off any future health scares that arise.
  3. Exercise at home if you can, stay active, and go for walks and runs outside while continuing to practice physical distancing from others.
